The brewery is situated in the historic centre of the City, where the ancient Saint André Abbey was, around which the Town was built, surrounded by ramparts. Various buildings (among others stables) located on either sides of the courtyard where formerly used for the first brewery which operated until 1926 and produced from 10,000 to 12,000 hectolitres a year. Closed for 75 years, the Malterie-brasserie de l’Abbaye du Cateau re-opened to visitors after numerous renovation works. Discover and taste the VIVAT beer, the brewery’s jewel! It is also possible to eat on the spot from Thursday (lunchtime) to Sunday (lunchtime).
